When I began working on Project: Sides, I hoped to have my viewpoints challenged, or have the opportunity to challenge other's viewpoints. Unfortunately, I have not had any of my viewpoints challenged yet. I expect things to change after I posted this re[y.
For the comment below is on Donald Trump, and on Fox News, almost all the commenters support Donald Trump or Ted Cruz. The other commenters are liberals looking to anger the conservatives. Thus, this comment received 23+ likes, and thus, though my reply is neutral, I expect to receive feedback.
Trump has spent about 20 bucks so far and has smashed ALL competition. That's a super-businessman right there who we need as president.
Trump may be a better businessman than all the other Republican candidates. He also may even improve this nation more than the other candidates. Yet he will not be as good a leader for America as another because of his statements which extend the government’s power.
First, if Trump is a better businessperson than the other candidates, it is only because he inherited more money. True, he did not squander the money like many would, but like Trump, anyone can invest money to become wealthier. Thus, he is less of a better businessperson and more of just a wealthier person.
Furthermore, Trump spends more money on his campaign than you might think. Political campaigns are expensive and it would be impressive if Donald Trump spent less than 20,000 dollars on his campaign, much less twenty dollars. Also, if campaign financing impresses, then perhaps you should support Bernie Sanders, who is doing excellent in the polls for the amount of money he has.
Trump’s statement against Muslims and Latinos, however, are his largest faults. Though they may seem wise because of recent events, his statements would extend the government’s power. For example, the logic having Muslims register because some terrorists are Muslim can easily be applied to other religions or groups that you and I identify with. If Mr. Trump followed his statements, he would give the government too much power over its citizens.
